Saachi Khattar was a semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2018 and studied Fashion Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Gandhinagar, India.

We need to open our eyes to the global plundering of resources. I believe there is absolutely no need to take virgin resources from nature over and over again. Instead we should concentrate on the smart collection and separation of waste for re-use back into garments or fabrics. - Saachi Khattar

redress Design Award Collection

For her Redress Design Award submission, Saachi was inspired by waste itself. Up-cycling secondhand saris and textile swatches, she uses organic dyes and traditional weaving techniques to transform waste into a casual collection for the modern woman, while embracing Indian handicrafts throughout the process.
