Bio

“I want to be a sustainable designer because I believe that sustainability is the future of fashion and is the only way to develop the industry to ensure it keeps thriving and inspiring. To me, sustainable fashion should be the norm. It’s more important than ever that big companies make solid attempts at producing and disposing of garments responsibly”. - Amy White
redress Design Award Collection
For her Redress Design Award Collection, Time for Tea, Amy draws influences from the practice of space, time and reflection that are central to the tea-making ceremonies of Japan. She is growing a biodegradable and compostable bacterial cellulose from green tea leaves, and will combine this with a variety of up-cycled natural textile waste. Her oversized unisex collection is designed to fit different genders and body types to maximise the longevity of the pieces.
