Gönül Yigit was a finalist of the Redress Design Award 2020. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design from the ArtEZ University of the Arts, The Netherlands.

redress Design Award Collection

For her Redress Design award collection, Suitable, Gönül was inspired by her grandfather’s approach to clothing, owning only a few key pieces in his closet that allow him to create endless combinations. Up-cycling secondhand clothing and textiles, selected carefully for colour and quality, Gönül adds value through the use of craft techniques and retaining a shadow of the original garment to add both history and mystery.
