Sofia Sanchez is a semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2021. She is currently pursuing a BA (Hons) in Fashion Contour at London College of Fashion, UK.

redress Design Award Collection

Sofia’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Dream Work’, is inspired by the unconscious mind and its symbolic language. She builds her collection through the piecing of a variety of textiles including denims and vintage handkerchiefs, as well as low-impact recycled fabrics, reflecting the sense of fragmentation she feels in herself. Adding to the delicate and dreamy inspiration, Sofia’s work makes use of embroidery techniques to bring words and drawings to her garments to emphasise her vulnerable, part confessional concept. She aims to engage the wearer to form an attachment and encourage longevity in the use phase.
