Yidan is a semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2021. She holds a BA in Fashion Design from Beijing University of Technology College of Art and Design and is currently working in Beijing as a designer.

redress Design Award Collection

Yidan’s Redress Design Award collection ‘Urban Wanderer’ reflects on the unhealthy relationship between human society and the material world and how trash, as a documentation of our human activities, moves through the crowd in the form of a vagrant, unmistakably understated and yet so visible. To create her sporty asymmetrical aesthetic, Yidan upcycles a variety of recycled waste yarns and recycled deadstock, hand-weaving into new fabrics. The collection can be transformed through a variety of zips to create multiple styles.
