Yimiao Yang is a semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2022. She holds a BA in Fashion Design from Dalian Polytechnic University - Southampton International College.

redress Design Award Collection

Yimiao’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Rebirth in the Wardrobe’, deconstructs old clothes to create a free splicing of trousers and sleeves. She then reconstructs the garments, restoring the hand-woven craftsmanship and sorting the used fabrics by colour and texture, then restitches them as something new. Her designs are intended to be transformative and functional, in order to meet the desire for changing trends without creating new waste.
