Zheng Luyao is a semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2022. He is studying Clothing and Apparel Design at Wuhan Textile University.

redress Design Award Collection

Luyao’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘无界 (No Boundaries)’, breaks gender stereotypes by creating unisex wear through the deconstruction and reconstruction of abandoned denim garments. Luyao emphasises the durability of denim itself, taking discarded jeans and transforming them into tops, giving new life to what would otherwise be considered waste.
