Aashita Jain is a Semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2023. She holds a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design from Pearl Academy, India.

redress Design Award Collection

Aashita’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Corals Matter’, draws inspiration from coral reef ecosystems. Aashita upcycles denim remnants by cutting them into coral-inspired designs and piecing them together using free-motion embroidery, resulting in a lace cut-out effect that minimises waste by using even the smallest scraps of fabric. The coral reef design on each piece of denim frays naturally with each wash, lending an organic look. Designing for longevity, Aashita employs versatile, timelines silhouettes to elevate the humble material and cotton facing to enhance its natural durability.
