redress Design Award Collection
Rose’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Lucky Strike’, captures the nostalgia of the ‘60s retro bowling aesthetic by upcycling vintage bowling shoes. Her collection is multifunctional, multi-weather, and multi-style, with trousers turning into shorts, and pant bottoms zipping together to create either a bag or top. Rose creates an emotional bond between the wearer and her garments by filming her creative process and sharing it on TikTok, encouraging the younger generation to embrace longevity. She also minimises water waste while shoe cleaning by working with a local UK factory and using eco-soaps. The garments are clearly labelled with the name and type of each component, making them easy to deconstruct for recycling.
