Thach Tien is a Semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2023. She holds a degree in Art and Fashion Design from the London College of Design and Fashion – Hanoi.

redress Design Award Collection

Tien’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘REHABILITATION’, is inspired by the protective suits worn by frontline medical workers during the pandemic. Her collection features a protective suit made with zero-waste cutting and patchwork design of cut-and-sew waste, end-of-rolls, and damaged textiles. Tien also uses natural silk fabrics and a traditional Vietnamese hand-dyeing technique with pomegranate peel and alum. In addition to being worn as clothing, the garments can also be converted into bags, offering versatility to wearers.
