redress Design Award Collection
Pearl’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘The Story Behind’, draws inspiration from the environment of the designer’s upbringing. The collection incorporates local vintage items and elements of old Hong Kong culture, such as ornate iron gates and chequered bread packaging, to encourage longevity through emotional connection. Vintage flour bags are upcycled with zero waste and hand-pleated into a long wrap skirt in one look, while in another, a jacket lined with green mesh is reminiscent of rain, and a tube slit dress evokes the colours of the iconic fish dish, golden threadfin bream or the red-shirt fish (紅衫魚).
