Amanda Borgfors Mészàros was a finalist of the Redress Design Award 2017. She studied Fashion Design at the Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm, Sweden. Amanda was featured as a 2018 ‘Vogue Talent’ , and was most recently named Newcomer of the Year at the Swedish ELLE Gala 2020.

I am saddened to live and work in a world where clothing consumption is a growing problem. I have visions of a beautiful, positively contributing fashion system both for the industry, and the way people consume. To achieve this we need to take both collective and individual responsibility - I believe that being a fashion designer in current times is both exciting and challenging. -Amanda Borgfors Mészàros

redress Design Award Collection

For her Redress Design Award(formerly the EcoChic Design Award) application, Amanda draws inspiration from the contrasts seen above and below the ocean surface. She applies the zero-waste, and up-cycling techniques to industry surplus textiles, blending diverse fabric textures to form her collection.
