Bio
Annihka Murray was a semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2017. She holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Fashion Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and a Bachelor of Science in Apparel Design, Merchandising and Production from Iowa State University, USA.
Sustainable Fashion needs take into account both the production and consumption of clothing. I want to be a sustainable designer because I am interested in preserving natural resources and promoting a different way of consuming clothing that will reduce the fashion industry’s strain on the environment. - Annihka Murray
Redress Design Award Collection
For her Redress Design Award (formerly the EcoChic Design Award) application, Annihka applies the zero-waste, up-cycling and reconstruction techniques to end-of-rolls and secondhand clothing. Her collection is inspired by the the luxury, glamour and exuberance of 1930’s Art Deco seaside resorts.
