Bio

Marta Dolska was a semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2017 and currently holds the role of CEO to her own sustainable fashion brand, Algorithme. Launched in 2015, Marta uses both environmentally and socially responsible methods to create garments including reconstruction techniques on second-hand items as well as providing employment opportunities to new immigrants in Denmark. Algorithme is currently launching a t-shirt collection featuring uniquely Danish illustrations embellished with workmanship by skilled immigrant handcrafters in a collaboration with Neutral, a sustainable t-shirt brand, Marta aims to promote diversity and sustainable design throughout her brand and projects. She is a graduate of the Copenhagen School of Design and Technology (KEA) in Denmark.

Redress Design Award Collection

For her Redress Design Award application (formerly the EcoChic Design Award), Marta applied the up-cycling and reconstruction techniques to secondhand textiles and men’s shirts. She played with the masculine and feminine forms, and was inspired by Asian and ephemeral aesthetics and the organic forms of primroses which exude romanticism and accidental perfectionism.
