Instilling passion and skills to new generations

EcoChic Design Award 2014/15 semi-finalist Katie Jones has set up SAVE OUR SKILLS, a new London-based project to instil passion and skill in the new generations, and to encourage a sustainable attitude towards fashion and textiles. Through teaching basic sewing and crochet skills, she hopes the participants can learn the skill to mend, embellish and create which enables us to understand the true value of our clothes. If you’re in London, Katie Jones is running a beginner’s crochet sessions held at the Fashion and Textile Museum – the next on 2 June.
