Alumni highlights: Showcasing sustainable design

Our Redress Alumni are at the forefront of a new breed of fashion designers prioritising sustainability and circularity as much as desirability. See what they’ve been working on lately!

Pat Guzik and Eric Wong at ‘Pass the Baton’ Exhibition in Hong Kong

As part of our ongoing work to reduce fashion's waste, we gathered a group of our talented Redress Alumni in Hong Kong to explore one of our very own waste streams: garments unfit for wear and destined to be downcycled, collected through our Takeback Programme.

Eric Wong and Pat Guzik are featured in the ‘Pass the Baton’ exhibition by the Hong Kong Design Centre, and their upcycled creations made from Redress’ takeback waste are now retailing at The Barn at D2 Place.

Lola Clavel creates upcycled fabric bookmarks

Redress also tasked Lola Clavel to create a useful item upcycled from Redress’ takeback waste. Her resulting limited-edition creations serve not only as bookmarks, but can also be used as coasters. They can be purchased through partner Gentle Books, with funds supporting both Redress and education charity EmpowerU.

Michaela Clubourg is a finalist for Fashion Values Challenge

Michaela Clubourg made it to the finals of the Fashion Values Challenge for her Design for Cultural Collaboration (DCC) platform, alongside co-founder Paula Chavero. DCC promotes an equitable and sustainable future for the fashion industry by preserving and celebrating traditional Latin American crafts whilst harnessing innovative technology.

The Fashion Values Challenge is an open call out to change-makers who are looking to shake up the fashion industry with new products, systems, and services. This year, guided by the question of ‘How can fashion value society?’, applicants were challenged to create ideas across the fields of design, media, or technology.
