Louis Vuitton x Redress Uniform Upcycling Project
Meiyan Chan was selected from a pool of Redress Alumni applicants to upcycle Louis Vuitton’s retired shop staff uniforms into stylish and functional tote bags for internal staff gifting. Her design drew inspiration from topographic maps as they not only provide valuable information about landforms, but also serve as a reminder to preserve our environment. The collaboration saved approximately 180 kg of garments from entering the landfill. In facilitating this collaboration, Redress also downcycled what remained from Meiyan’s production of the tote bags in order to continue driving waste out of fashion.
