Lynsey Gibson was a finalist of the Redress Design Award 2018 and holds a BA in Fashion Knitwear from University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins, UK. Lynsey currently works as a freelance knitwear designer.

In today's current climate, I believe there should only be the option of being a sustainable designer. I can no longer work in an industry that puts profit over the environment or consumption over humanitarian concern. redress Design Award Collection

For her Redress Design Award submission, Lynsey draws inspiration from a variety of sources including the cultural differences of Europe and China, select artists and by the women who surround her. Up-cycling leftover and sample yarns along with secondhand and end-of-roll textiles, she combines labour heavy textile techniques with seamless knitwear innovation to manipulate discarded waste.
