Bio

Giovanni Zocchetta was recognised as a Rising Talent of the Redress Design Award 2022. His collection concept ‘Polymer Gluttony’ highlights bodily deformity from plastic pollution through surplus silk, reused  plastic bags, and recycled PLA for 3D printing. Giovanni is currently interning with Redress Design Award 2014/15 winner Kévin Germanier in his Paris atelier.

For the Redress Design Award, Giovanni demonstrated strength in innovation as demonstrated by fusing plastic bags and 3D printing, constructing garments in unique shapes, using monofibre material to design for recyclability, and using recycled filament for 3D printing trimmings. He is interested in developing further in accessories, technology, and materials.

Giovanni was also selected to win a 12-month professional membership from prize partner Common Objective for demonstrating growth in the Rising Talents programme.
