redress Design Award Collection
Apoorva’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘SAATH’, is an ode to cultural exploration. Her collection sources an assortment of colourful sarees secondhand from family members’ wardrobes, as well as a cotton and acrylic net fabric from a recycling factory. Waste from the creation of the garments is patchworked and repurposed as linings. Instead of using chemical dye, she pounds flowers onto her garments to add style. Layering, reversibility, and drawstring design elements create versatility for the wearer, and Apoorva shares style, maintenance, and repair advice with each garment to enhance longevity.
