Mariona Urgell Baiori is a Semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2023. She is studying for her bachelor's degree in Fashion Design from LCI Barcelona, Spain.

redress Design Award Collection

Mariona’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Otherness’, delves into the devaluation of female beauty over time, and references a combination of historical and contemporary fashion influences. Weaving together strips of denim offcuts, Mariona aims for a timeless aesthetic with adjustable hems that allows the garments to be worn for a long time to come. She also adds handmade fabric manipulations such as tie-dying and linoleum printing using water-based lacquers. The garments are designed to be easily disassembled into their individual components for recycling.
