Redress Design Award Collection

Elizabeth’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Subvert, Sustain’, explores how sustainable fashion deserves a bigger spotlight than merely a secondary category within fashion. The collection takes inspiration from traditional knitting techniques such as tartan and slip stitch, and subverts that by knitting with yarn made from secondhand T-shirts. Elizabeth also uses techniques such as stitch laddering and unexpected placements to achieve a unique aesthetic. Collar and hem offcuts from secondhand shirts are sewn into patchwork textiles, transforming trims into fabrics.
