Ffion’s Redress Design Award 2021 collection, ‘The Planet Protection Squad’, draws visual inspiration from post-soviet youth culture to bring to life a collection concept for guardians of the planet in a dystopian future. With protection and functionality at forefront, she creates trans-seasonal garments upcycled from Royal Air Force uniforms, retired parachutes and a yacht sail. Ffion communicates with the consumer via labelling to engage them on the rejuvenation story and to extend the life of garments.
