For her Redress Design Award collection ‘One’s life ·Two people ·Three meals · Four seasons’, Yubei was influenced by Vincent van Gogh and Taylor Swift, translating their style and artistry into plastic tube fabrics. Inspired also by her grandparents’ long-distance relationship involving sending letters with perennial hydrangea petals, Yubei reconstructed her grandmother’s old wedding dress, cutting it into 600 fabric petals and redesigning it with plant-dyed veils and resin printing. Through this transformation of unwanted clothing, she hopes to illustrate a beautiful story of love with each look.
