Meet The Designer

“I believe it is important for my generation to create a positive impact on our planet and that a key driver behind sustainability is the empowerment of women. As a designer, I feel a great sense of satisfaction in creating in a sustainable way from step one, and exploring ways to make a better use of waste.”

Redress Design Award Collection

Through her Redress Design Award application collection, MATRIARCADO, Isabel Annaiss highlighted the abuse of girls, lost childhoods and the oppression of women in Peru, including the stories of her grandmother and Lina Medina, a native of Huancavelica. In collaboration with a small community in the highlands of Peru whose livelihood is being negatively affected by the growth of fast fashion Isabel Annaiss creates up-cycled textiles woven from a wide range of textile waste collected from her family-owned factory.
