The Redress Design Award judges represent the crème de la crème of sustainable industry expertise. Drawing from the worlds of retail, design, manufacturing and communications, the judges will look for qualities of creativity, originality, sustainability and market viability in the competition applications.
Simon Au
Editorial Director, Vogue Hong Kong
Simon Au oversees women’s fashion, art, and lifestyle content on print and website for Vogue Hong Kong. He carries experience working with first-tier brands and is excited to explore the potential of emerging fashion designers.
Orsola de Castro
Author and Co-founder, Fashion Revolution
Orsola de Castro is an internationally recognised opinion leader in sustainable fashion, a mentor, curator and author. Her multi-award-winning brand From Somewhere (1997–2014) was pioneering in the field of upcycling and sold in some of the world’s best boutiques — collaborations include collections for Tesco Clothing, Robe Di Kappa, Topshop and Speedo. In 2006 she started Estethica, the highly acclaimed Sustainable Fashion Showcase at London Fashion Week (which she has recently reformed), and in 2013 she co-founded Fashion Revolution, now the world’s largest fashion activism movement, with teams in over 80 countries. She is a regular lecturer at Central Saint Martins BA and MA and is Associate Visiting Professor for the faculty of the arts at Middlesex University. Her first book, Loved Clothes Last, was published by Penguin Life in 2021 and translated into Italian (Corbaccio Editori), French (Edition Marabou), and German (Doerlemann Verlag).
Bonnie Chen
Fashion Model, Filmmaker, Environmentalist
Bonnie Chen made her mark as a supermodel as the first Asian face to appear in American Vogue. Hailing from Nanjing, China, Bonnie has modelled internationally for luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Chloé, Tom Ford, Gucci, Giorgio Armani, and Ralph Lauren for shows, editorials, and campaigns. In 2024, Bonnie initiated a China sustainability project with the Cannes Film Festival, and also did a sustainable fashion shoot with Vogue Hong Kong. She was a speaker in Vogue China’s ‘Forces of Fashion’ event, a sustainability ambassador for Shenzhen Fashion Week, and has been an ambassador for Redress’ designer and consumer work since 2014. Across social media platforms, she has a combined following of 2.7 million. Bonnie founded the children’s mental health foundation Star Bunny Love in 2011 to support sustainability and autistic children’s arts by raising funds through charity flea markets, fashion shoots, and exhibitions. She is fully committed to telling stories that inspire and heal others.
KÉVIN GERMANIER
Creative Director, GERMANIER and Alumnus, Redress Design Award
After winning the coveted Redress Design Award, in 2018 Kévin launched his own sustainable womenswear label, GERMANIER, which features upcycled materials including beads and sculptural fabric, and utilises zero-waste methods. His collection has retailed at MatchesFashion.com and JOYCE, and his glamorous upcycled garments have been worn by multiple A-list celebrities including Lady Gaga, Heidi Klum, Björk, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Swift, Sunmi. Kévin holds a degree in Fashion Womenswear from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, UK, and previously worked as a junior designer at Louis Vuitton in Paris, where he is currently based.
Marc Gianneschi
Senior Vice President, Tommy Hilfiger Asia Pacific
Marc leads the Tommy Hilfiger brand and product teams within the Asia Pacific region. Marc has extensive commercial retail experience having managed the Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein business across Hong Kong, Macau and South East Asia markets. Prior to this, he worked in travel retail both on the brand side and at DFS. He has a wealth of experience in ensuring product and marketing resonates with consumers across distinct markets.
Rod Henderson
President, TAL Apparel Ltd
Rod Henderson is the President of Concept2, one of the business units of TAL Apparel. Concept2 specialises in Casual and Lifestyle apparel, working with many well-known brands and retailers across the USA and Europe. Rod is part of the TAL leadership team which has successfully transformed TAL’s structure establishing the business unit focus. Previously, Rod has held senior roles in manufacturing, sourcing, and retail, working across various apparel sectors with both Hong Kong and UK companies. Rod has been living in Hong Kong for the past 13 years since moving from the UK.
Peter Hui
Founder and CEO, King of Knit Fashion Limited
Honorary Secretary, Sustainable Fashion Business Consortium
With over 25 years of experience in the textile and apparel industry, Peter Hui has actively worked with various groups, such as the Hong Kong Knitwear Exporters and Manufacturers Association, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council's Garment Advisory Committee, to promote Hong Kong’s garment industry globally. He has also worked with the Knitwear Innovation and Design Society, and the Vocational Training Council's Fashion and Textile Training Board, to promote knitwear fashion design and nurture young talents. Moreover, he has worked with the Sustainable Fashion Business Consortium, which is dedicated to sustainable practices across the global fashion supply chain, creating positive environmental and social impacts.
Angus Tsui
Creative Director, ANGUS TSUI and Alumnus, Redress Design Award
After winning the Redress Design Award 2012 People’s Choice Award, in 2014 Angus Tsui launched his namesake sustainable womenswear and menswear brand, which applies zero-waste, up-cycling and reconstruction techniques to high fashion designs. Whilst studying Fashion Design studies at Nottingham Trent University and the Hong Kong Design Institute, Tsui worked with upcycling pioneers such as Orsola de Castro and Ada Zanditon in London to hone the sustainable design techniques that he continues to incorporate into his work today. From being named a 'Black Sheep' by leading independent designer platform, Not Just A Label, to being handpicked to represent the future of fashion design at the Hong Kong Young Talent Alumni Fashion Show 2016, to receiving the Redress Design Award 2017 Alumni Prize, Angus continues to collect accolades as his brand grows.
Jessica Wei
Senior Director, Sustainability, Tommy Hilfiger Asia Pacific
Jessica leads the sustainability agenda for Tommy Hilfiger in the Asia Pacific region, which spans core focuses of sustainable product and packaging, circularity strategy, climate action and renewable energy, as well as consumer-facing communications and engagement. In 2024, her focus is on shaping and delivering on initiatives to accelerate the brand’s Tommy for Tomorrow targets within the region and globally. Jessica is also passionate about social impact and was a judge for Tommy’s Global Fashion Frontier Challenge inviting fashion collaborators on impact and inclusion. Prior to working in sustainability, Jessica has led strategic, innovation and M&A projects, and looks at sustainability through a lens of commerciality in addition to pushing ambition.
Xiao Xue
Former Editor-in-Chief of Elle China, Author, and Fashion Opinion Leader
Xiao Xue has been recognised for pioneering the use of social media to reach a younger demographic as former editor-in-chief of Elle China, where she served for over 13 years. With 20 years’ experience in fashion media, Xiao Xue has strongly supported Chinese designers, established Elle annual awards for independent designers, and was listed multiple times on the BoF 500 list of people shaping the global fashion industry. Since 2020, Xiao Xue has advocated for elegance, aesthetic living, and sustainability through her personal media platform of over 5 million followers, where she has collaborated with many international and domestic brands. Xiao Xue has also served as an ambassador for Shanghai Fashion Week since 2021. In 2023, she was invited by the Women’s Foundation to become an ambassador for the public welfare programme ‘Genius Mothers’. Xiao Xue is also a bestselling author of the books ‘Elegance’, ‘Elegance is Power’, and ‘Transformation of Elegance’.
