Managing a Low-Carbon Supply Chain – Crystal Denim
Leading garment manufacturer Crystal International Group Limited joined Redress for a candid conversation about their initiatives to reduce carbon emissions on the path to net zero by 2050, and what it takes for a large scale manufacturer to get there.
Crystal Denim has been manufacturing garments for 40 years, producing around 60 millions pairs of jeans per year. Product Development Manager, Kim Ho, sat down with Redress’ Education Director, Marianne Mclean-Atkins, to understand the environmental impact created at the manufacturing stage, supply chain transparency, and why it is important to engage with brands and designers.
Watch this video to deepen your knowledge about the carbon impact across the supply chain from fibre choices, manufacturing processes, through to tracking carbon emissions. To better understand the impact your choices make, try out their denim carbon calculator for yourself: MyBluPrint.
We would like to thank Crystal International, not only for their time and expertise, but also for driving sustainable supply chains so that brands and their designers can choose to work with those who share their values for propelling circular fashion.
