Meet The Designer

“Meaningful change doesn’t happen alone, but through collaboration and shared responsibility. I see design as a way to bring together connections between nature, people, and the systems, creating work that values care and long-term thinking.”

Redress Design Award Collection

Amanda Gabriella’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Filum Perpetuitatis’, draws inspiration from the regenerative nature of mushrooms. Her collection views garments as living systems that grow from waste and evolve through wear, care, and time. Zero-waste pieces are constructed from rectangular panels made with textile off-cuts from local discarded cotton bedding, informed by traditional Indonesian approaches to dress, with natural dyes used to work with existing and future marks. Over time, garments are repaired through visible embroidery, adding charm and reinforcing areas of wear while fostering a close relationship with the wearer before the pieces are returned, disassembled, and made new.
