Bio

Micaela Clubourg is a finalist of the Redress Design Award 2022. She created her brand ‘Studio Cumbre’, a sustainable, ready-to-wear brand that integrates the culture of Japanese cuts with Latin American handcrafting techniques. Their deep commitment to sustainability is displayed through their use of natural fibres and mono-compositions, zero-waste methods and handmade processes to forge responsible production. Showcased at Madrid Fashion Week in 2025 was her Edition 07 collection: ‘The Ancient Dark’, as well as ‘We’ve Been Here Before’ was displayed at the Ego Stage of MBFWMadrid, a collection that celebrates continuity and heritage with a long-lasting social and environmental impact. A positive social impact project Michaela has started is Design for Cultural Collaboration, which connects fashion industry brands with Latin American artisan communities to support and promote sustainable traditional practices and fair trade by the use of blockchain technology.

Micaela has had many collaborations alongside running her brand; working on pattern development with Hereu studio for their 2025 bag and shoe collection, as well as artisanal product development for MARIA CHER and creating collections for The Royal Commission of AlUIa Arts. Furthermore, she currently works as a guest lecturer at institutions such as LCI Barcelona, IED, University of Buenos Aires, FabLab and the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences, which focuses on trends, innovation and sustainability. To shed let on the realities of unethical and unsustainable processing of the fashion industry by educating young professionals. She holds a degree in Fashion Design from the University of Buenos Aires.

Redress Design Award Collection

Micaela’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Back To The Roots’, combines the straight lines of oriental geometry with the organic of Latin American handmade knits, and seeks to reach a universal audience through adaptable, versatile garments. Micaela sources textiles such as cotton and linen from local industries, and colours them with natural dyes from food waste such as coffee, tea, and onion peel, as well as incorporates recycled plastic buttons and trims.
