Redress Design Award Collection

Qiyu’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Recover’, makes use of old bed covers and sheets gifted by her grandmother, who had stored them after they fell out of trend. Through upcycling and reconstruction, she transforms them into modern clothing: she uses the most beautiful parts of the fabrics as the main body and designs around stains and flaws with strategic geometric cut-outs, while using the leftover material and scraps for trims, such as tassels and borders. Qiyu also creates a patchwork of similar colours to create colour gradations.
