“I developed a passion for sustainable fashion during my years living on an organic farm while studying fashion in Düsseldorf. As a result of experiencing the contrast between city life and natural organic living, I realised how much waste we produce as a society. Besides being creative and developing fashion, I love to travel get to know new cultures and learn from other human beings. ”

Bio

Since participating in the Redress Design Award Hong Kong 2011, Sophia Heussner has launched her sustainable label, ï Miss Sophïe. The label mixes up-cycled end-of-roll textiles with organic cotton and all her collections are made in the UK. ï Miss Sophïe is retailed through the brand’s online platform and has been showcased at Pure London. She has a BA in Fashion Design from Private Modeschule, Düsseldorf Germany.

Redress Design Award Collection

For her Redress Design Award (formerly the EcoChic Design Award) collection, Sophia was inspired by the countryside and nature and by the LOHAS lifestyle. She used raw natural fabrics such as hemp along with vintage clothes and recycled textiles to provide strength and long life to this eco collection.
